The Order of TANAP for visitors
The establishment of TANAP in 18. 12. 1948 was
the most important step for security of the High Tatras. The Western
Tatras, The High Tatras and the Belan Tatras create TANAP. A complete
area is 741 km2 and security line is 366 km2. The headquarter of
TANAP is in Tatranska Lomnica. There is also located the museum
of TANAP. The inform centrums are in Tatranska Lomnica and Štrbské
Mountain Lake.
From the view of security nature and region in TANAP visitors are
obliged to observe these instructions:
1) Visitors can only move on public roads and tourist marked paths
in the territory of TANAP
2) Camping and parking is only possible in places, which on it are
derminated and marked. It is forbidden to stay the night in free
nature ,not even on roads and in parking areas
3) It´s forbidden to catch, put down and collect (gather) any phase
of animals and affect their biotops. Leading dogs is prohibited
in the valleys.
4) It´s prohibited to pick and damage plants, bushes and trees
5) It´s forbidden to dirty enviroment by rubbish, disturb quiet
and silence. Bathing in tarns and brooks is prohibited
6) Signs of competent workers (the guard of security nature, the
guard of forest ,the mountain guard) are obligatory for visitors
7) Climbing, ski alpinism, paragliding is only possible to perform
in the areas, which on are determinated
8) Bycicles can be use onto public roads and cyclic routes. The
valleys are close from the 1st. of November to the 15th of June.
The ascent is permitted only to the challets, which are open all
yearly.
It´s sad, that every year it´s needed to gather several hundreds
kilograms of rubbish in the event „Clean mountain“ because of irresponsible
tourists. 760 volunteers took part in the first year in the autumn
1979 and gathered till 1860 kg rubbish.
In the last time situation with population of chamois ,on which
decreasing has also influence tourist hustle, develops negatively.
The department of environment lately approved of a programme, how
to save chamois. The project costs 18,5 million Slovak crowns and
12 million are selected to practical arrangements like guard and
monitoring chamois, feeding ...
